Description

Abstract

Teaching and learning are integral to Biblical Christian education. To teach effectively is to impact lives positively and bring about learning. Learning is about positive change or transformation in behaviour. Only the Holy Spirit can do the work of transformation, not man. The problem with effective teaching and learning is that some Christian teachers or educators do not allow the Holy Spirit to play His role in teaching-learning. Hence, sometimes the teaching and the time one spends on learning becomes ineffective or unproductive. Biblical Christian education goes beyond intellectualism, it is much more within the domain of spiritual epistemology. What the teachers of the Word need now is not the extraordinary intellectualism, it is the extraordinary unction or supernatural power to know and explain the inspired Word of God to draw people closer to God.  This paper intends to bridge this gap to expand the frontiers of knowledge in Biblical Christian education through a pneumagogical approach. The methodology adopted in this paper is Solus Primus Scriptura Research (SPSR). After a few recommendations, this study concluded that an effective teaching-learning process is predicated on the involvement of the Holy Spirit.
