The Eruption of 6-Year Molar: A Clinical Case Report on Symptom Management

The study reviews symptoms produced during the eruption of 6-year molars and the treatment approaches directed toward oral and general health. It also includes a case report of a 6-year-old boy who presented with red, Swollen gum over erupting tooth no 46, fever, and refusal to take solid food due to pain over the eruption site.The preferred management protocol involved a topical anti-inflammatory agent that helped reduce soreness, an over-the-counter medication tablet containing acetaminophen that was sufficient to manage fever, improvement in oral hygiene, and parental attention to their child. The tooth showed a regular eruption pattern and symptoms were relieved after the mentioned treatment. The tooth was visible in the oral cavity within a few days and after 1 month tooth was found fully erupted into its position. Drug treatment is often recommended for symptomatic eruption cases. Besides, lack of age-related maturity, emotional dependency on parents, parental attention, and compassion helped a lot to manage eruption symptoms.
