Description

Bullying can happen anywhere, whether at school, at work, or in a public setting. Bullying often occurs in situations where a person or group of individuals feel they are more powerful than the victim. In a boarding school in Malaysia, an incident of bullying and sexual harassment has occurred involving male students. This case involved several senior students who were identified as the perpetrators, and also the victim was a student with another friend. On 25.7.2024, the school arrested several male students related to the issue of bullying in the form of coercion. This incident was committed by boarding students late at night after the warden's assignment. This study uses a chronological case study design according to the day of the incident. The factors that cause cases of coercion are diverse, and they involve personal, social, and environmental aspects. There are several strategies used to deal with the issue of coercion effectively. Psychological approaches help overcome the emotional and mental effects of bullying, as well as support both victims and bullies to overcome and change their behavior. Through a combination of education, policy enforcement, counseling, suspension, psychological support, and parental and community involvement, bullying cases in schools can be significantly reduced.
