Description

The collection presents public opinion survey data collected by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) from 1995 to 2008 among the adult population of Ukraine, examining levels of trust in various political figures, as well as in government bodies, political and social institutions (a total of 11 surveys). All public opinion surveys included in this collection are representative of Ukraine's adult population. Some surveys cover individuals aged 16 and older, while others focus on the adult population aged 18 and older. The interview mode for all surveys was face-to-face at the respondent's place of residence. Sample sizes vary across surveys, ranging from approximately 1,000 to 2,000 respondents. In addition to questions on trust, the datasets include basic socio-demographic characteristics of respondents (gender, age, education, ethnicity, occupation, financial situation, and others) and information on place of residence (region and type of settlement). The datasets are available in SAV format (in Ukrainian or Russian, and English) and as converted CSV files (with codebooks). The Data Documentation includes a short overview and discussion of survey results, including frequency tables and charts.
