Description

Squamapex Zhang and von Rintelen gen. nov.

Type species: Squamapex taiji Zhang and von Rintelen sp. nov..

Diagnosis: Same as family Squamapicidae.

Etymology: Squamapex is derived from ‘squama’ (Latin for scale) and ‘apex’ (Latin for top), in reference to the scale-like pits on the protoconch. The recommended Chinese name is ‘üūDz’ (scale-top snail).
