Description

The NASA Science Explorer (SciX) is at the forefront of interdisciplinary scientific discovery through its role as a multidisciplinary information nexus. Expanding the capabilities of the NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS), SciX integrates literature across Astrophysics, Planetary Science, Heliophysics, Earth Sciences, and Biological and Physical Sciences, linking to the data and software essential for research discoverability. Utilizing advanced sematic technologies and knowledge graphs, SciX enhances the discoverability and interoperability of complex datasets, facilitating innovative research and collaboration across scientific domains. The SciX Ambassadors program strengthens this initiative by connecting communities and networks, fostering a community a culture of open science and interdisciplinary collaboration. Ongoing investigations in machine learning and natural language processing, including named entity recognition, the development of AstroBERT and SciXBrain, and the automatic tagging of keywords using large language models, further enhance the platforms's capabilities. This initiative embodies the convergence of data science, interdisciplinary science, open science, and social science, driving forward our understanding of complex systems, global crises, and planetary challenges through state-of-the-art tools and methodologies.
