Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic systemic autoimmune inflammatory disease of the connective tissue, mainly characterized by erosive-destructive polyarthritis of the peripheral joints. RA is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by joint inflammation, damage, and loss of function. This article reviews the etiology, pathogenesis, clinical features, diagnosis, and treatment of RA.
