Current valid name: Pan troglodytes schweinfurthii (Giglioli, 1872)
Holotype: ZMB 13748/13749, male, juvenil, skull, skin, skeleton; “vom Nordostufer des Tanganjika, an der Grenze von Urundi, nördl. Udjidji” [northeast from Ujiji at Tanganyika Lake near the border to Burundi], Tanzania; collected by Deininger and donated by Stuhlmann, 1899.
