Current valid name: Macaca arctoides (Geoffroy, 1831)
Holotype: ZMB 15924/15925, male, subadult, skull, skin; „ Grenzgebiet zwischen den Provinzen Kuang-tung“ [Guangdong Province], Hu-nan [Hunan Province] and Kuang-si [Guangxi Province], “in den Bergländern” [mountains, about 2.000m altitude] near Lo-tschang-ho [?] approximately 113° E / 25° N, South China; collected by Mell, undated.
