THE USE OF THE VENTRILOQUIL APPROACH IN UNDERSTANDING HOW IT IS POSSIBLE TO BUILD RESEARCH CAPABILITY ONLINE

The intent of the poster is to illustrate the use of the Ventriloquil Approach in understanding how it is possible to build research capability online. Online education is a mediated communication which means that there are agents other than the teacher participating in the teaching and learning process. The VA assumes that various forms of agency can be invoked or mobilized in a given interaction or dialogue (Cooren, 2004). Through the  Ventroloquil analysis, it shall be shown that the digital media are agents that participate in the learning process by providing a space for open mentoring and thus enabling other members of the research community to participate in building research capability online.
