Description

After the identification of vitamin C in the 1930s, numerous reports appeared arguing that vitamin C was beneficial against infections.

In 1930s, three reviews summarized the findings of the studies.

This review by Robertson (1934) is one of them. This text is restricted to the sections on vitamin C.

Links to the references were added to the extent they are currently available.

Given the evidence from the early studies, and from later studies, the rejection of vitamin C is puzzling. Potential reasons for the rejection are considered elsewhere:
