River wave surfing data for biomechanical simulation

Description

This dataset contains study data from seven participants surfing at the Nuremberg river wave (in collaboration with Nürnberger Dauerwelle e.V.). Synchronized IMU data from ten sensors attached to certain body parts of the participants and joint angle predictions from human pose estimation of two different camera angles (C1 and C2) can be found. The data is averaged over recurring surf cycles, depending on the number of completely tracked surf cycles. A surf cycle starts from the middle of the river wave followed by a front turn, a back turn, and returning to the middle of the wave or vice versa. The study was approved by the ethical committee of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (Re.-No. 22-437-B). All methods were carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations.

The data can be used and loaded with the BioMAC Simulation Toolbox (https://github.com/mad-lab-fau/BioMAC-Sim-Toolbox).
