Based on the collaboration between "high schools and high schools," "high schools and universities," and "high schools and high-tech enterprises," the Astronomical Society of Jiangsu Tianyi High School has jointly developed high school astronomy courses in partnership with these institutions and achieved significant results. We have not only jointly established in-school laboratories such as observatories and meteor monitoring stations, but also constructed a number of off-campus practical bases. we have joined the Informationization Working Committee of the Chinese Astronomical Society and initiated the establishment of astronomy alliances for middle school students in Jiangsu Province and Wuxi City. We collaborate with top-tier universities to develop astronomy courses and conduct research projects. We have established Popular Science Courses, including astronomy popularization lectures, exhibitions, and observations. We have developed Subject Competition Courses, contributing a number of outstanding students to the Chinese national team for the International Olympiad on Astronomy. We have developed Project Research Courses, Many student papers have been published in domestic and international academic journals, including SCI-indexed journals, and student research achievements have won awards in various science and technology competitions. In collaboration with universities, we have developed University-High School Joint Courses, a number of students have been admitted to astronomy departments at top universities both domestically and internationally, such as Peking University and Cornell University.
About the 6th Shaw-IAU Workshop on Astronomy for Education:
The 6th Shaw-IAU Workshop took place:12 - 15 November 2024. The Shaw-IAU workshops focus on astronomy education for primary and secondary school students and teacher training both in universities and in service. This year's workshop featured two special topics: an exploration of the first two years of the James Webb Space Telescope for the scientific topic, and the crucial aspect of evaluation in educational contexts as the non-scientific topic.
