Disruptions in Supply Chain

Supply chain management is one of the core functions in the Operations. This deals with the flow of goods, services and information from the initial step to the final consumer end. Real SCM ensures the guaranteed discounts in cost, timely deliveries and augmented level of customer satisfaction. However, there are challenges in both service based and product based firms in SCM such as vendor outsourcing, Bullwhip effect , lack of real time data and many more. This study majorly focuses on the “Bullwhip effect”, in which even the slightest change in the customer demand can create significant changes in the orders. In the further study the mitigation strategies for the potential challenges have been discussed in order to build a strong supply chain design structure.
