ḞƱIJüẽ

Figure 9

Description. Male. Body medium.

Head. Face ovoid with scattered dots; fastigium verticis about twice as wide as scape; fastigium frontis separated from fastigium verticis by a very fine suture (Fig. 9A). Ocelli distinct; median ocellus subcircular, obviously larger than lateral ocelli (Fig. 9A).

Thorax. Anterior margin of pronotum faintly projecting in middle, posterior margin arched (Fig. 9B); lateral lobes longer than high, anterior angle arched, posterior angle roundly angular, humeral sinus indistinct (Fig. 9C). Fore coxae with 1 small spine; fore and middle femora unarmed, tibiae ventrally with 4 pairs of spurs and 1 pair of apical spurs; middle tibiae with 1 internal spur on dorsal surface. Hind femora with 3–4 internal and 4 external spines on ventral surface; dorsal surface of tibiae with 4 internal spines, 6–7 external spines, and 1 pair of apical spurs, ventral surface with 1 pair of subapical spurs and 2 pairs of apical spurs. Wings obviously surpass the apex of abdomen; hind wings slightly longer than tegmina.

Abdomen. Second and third abdominal tergites each with few, very minute stridulatory pegs (Fig. 9D). Eighth abdominal tergite prolonged backward. Ninth abdominal tergite semi-globular: prolonged and down-curved; ventral margin arched (Fig. 9F); baso-lateral surface on both sides with a large acute process, which curved outward from middle area (Fig. 9E). Tenth abdominal tergite transverse, with 1 pair of tubercular processes in middle (Fig. 9F). Subgenital plate wider than long; lateral margins convex on basolateral areas and then converging; posterior margin with a U-shaped concavity, the lateral lobes with internal margin longer than external margin, the apical margin obliquely (Fig. 9L). Styli short, apices truncate, inserted at apico-lateral margins of the plate.

Female. Unknown.

Coloration. Body yellowish brown. Face black, ocelli yellow. Pronotum brown with black margins. Wings semi-membranous, veins brown. Eighth and ninth abdominal tergites black.

Measurements (mm). Male: BL 24.35, PL 4.62, TL 31.70, HFL 14.19.

Material examined. Holotype: male, Langping, Tianlin, Guangxi, August 3, 2024, coll. by Yanting Qin.

Distribution. Guangxi (Tianlin).

Discussion. The new species differs from Phryganogryllacris nigra Chen & Yang, 2024 by body yellowish brown, pronotum with black margins, the posterior concavity of male subgenital plate wider.

Etymology. Named after the type locality.
