The lungfish—Fish, Amphibian, or Something Else?
Description
The Australian lungfish is a curiosity of nature. Like several modern fish species, this species has a lung-like structure besides its gills. Evolutionists claim that lungfishes represent the transition between sea and land. However, despite this interesting organ, genomically, the Australian lungfish cannot be described as a transitional species. The expression pattern of several genes in its lung, vomeronasal organ, and limbs are all different from those in fish. Its 43 Gb genome is much larger than that of fish. Mitochondrial DNA analysis likely places lungfishes in their own separate apobaramin. The lung is a complex organ and has not been explained by random mutations by evolutionists. Many modern fish are obligate air breathers, yet they are not on the alleged trajectory between sea and land. Therefore, the Australian lungfish is most likely just another species of fish with lungs, and not a transitional species.
