The Data Liberation Toolkit - An Open Source Set of Tools for Harmonization and Maintenance
Description
Converting data across formats and updating inventory data to the latest version of background databases is currently a major pain point for the industrial ecology community. In this session, we show four new open source tools:
* ecoinvent_interface: The (unofficial) missing API for ecoinvent. Get all ecoinvent information, including releases, reports, and process-specific data. This toolkit also harmonizes and fixes some ecoinvent data issues.
* randonneur: A specification and reference implementation of inventory data migrations. Allows you to migrate names, units, locations, or any other inventory data to change software systems or data formats. Paired with randonneur-data, which has many such migrations already built-in.
* bw_simapro_csv: A robust parser for SimaPro CSV files which includes many data fixes and extensive logging. SimaPro CSV is a tricky format to get right - we have suffered so that you can get on with your work.
* ecoinvent_migrate: Generate Randonneur migrations for ecoinvent technosphere and biosphere flows. Automatically generates disaggregation factors where needed.
We conclude by showing these tools in action by importing Agribalyse 3.1.1, removing the links to aggregated system processes copied from ecoinvent, replacing them with links to a clean ecoinvent import, and then migrating those links to ecoinvent 3.10.
