Analyse morphotechnologique des core-axes de Milolo, des outils récurrents dans les industries préhistoriques du Gabon

Authors/Creators

Description

The core-axe is a tool regularly encountered in prehistoric industries in Central Africa. But there is little studied. Milolo site, located in the province of Nyanga (southern Gabon), delivered a collection of relatively large core-axes. In this article, this collection is analyzed through an morphotechnologic approach. This allows to abstract techniques developed for the production of core-axes on this site and to raise their characters typométriques. Thus one can understand and highlight the evolution, still poorly understood of the core-axis in Gabon.
