Smart Orthotic Leg Monitoring System: IOT Enabled Sensor Integration, Data Analytics and Cloud Storage For Orthotist Analysis
Authors/Creators
Description
The rise in mobility-related impairments due to musculoskeletal conditions and limb loss has led to an increased demand for effective and affordable orthotic and prosthetic devices. These papers aims to develop a real-time monitoring system integrated into an orthotic leg that leverages advanced sensor technologies to track joint angles, load distribution, and user movement. By using Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) and pressure sensors, the system provides continuous feedback, promoting optimal mobility and user comfort. This paper explores the design, integration of wearable sensors, and challenges addressed, such as battery efficiency, material optimization, and cost-effectiveness. The proposed orthotic leg will enhance gait analysis, thermal comfort, and long-term wearability, making it a valuable tool for individuals with mobility impairments.
