Description

This dataset contains all variables involved in data analysis in the publication Rotbarth et al 2024, "Boreal forests are heading for an open state", PNAS. 

The meta data file contains explanations for each variable in the main dataset. The second dataset includes mean annual temperatures for the years 2020-2100 based in projections from the EC-Earth3-Veg-LR model. More details on both datasets are provided in the Supplementary information Table S1.
