Dismorfía de genitales externos femeninos, reporte de un caso
Description
Dysmorphia of female external genitalia is a physical defect of the components of the vulva; the most common cause of hypertrophy is in all likelihood congenital. Currently, there is no consensus on clinical criteria to define dysmorphia; however, the genital deformation of the labia minora stands out beyond the labia majora, in an excessive or asymmetrical manner; affected women show concern about their genital appearance. There are different techniques that allow correcting this hypertrophy. Laser labiaplasty is one of them, performing a continuous cut that reduces the size of the minor or major labia. This case study evaluated the external genital dysmorphia of a 46-year-old nulliparous patient, with total atrophy of labia majora and hypertrophy of labia minora extending to the perineum, with average enlargement of the clitoral hood. With prior informed consent, it was decided to perform laser labiaplasty, perinoplasty, clitoral hood reduction and labia majora fillings with plasma gel in the operating room. The post-procedure results were satisfactory, with immediate post-operative evaluation, at 15 days and two months, observing symmetric external genitalia, uniform vulvar architecture and good healing; there was no manifestation of pain, only of satisfaction. It was concluded that the techniques used along with platelet-rich plasma placement in wounds and plasma gel filling of labia majora were effective in correcting female external genital dysmorphia, and the actions increased the patient's self-esteem and quality of life.
