The rapid advancement of AI is transforming industries and society, highlighting the need for standardised frameworks to ensure consistency, interoperability, and ethical integrity. This report, based on workshops by HSbooster.eu, connects AI standardisation expertise with domain-specific applications, exploring how standards can drive innovation while addressing ethical, risk, and regulatory challenges.

Using cases from sectors like energy, healthcare, manufacturing, and mobility, the report illustrates the opportunities and challenges of AI standards. It also examines how compliance with regulations, like the EU AI Act, fosters trustworthy AI systems.

A series of workshops held from June to July 2024 gathered EU-funded projects, industry leaders, and policymakers to discuss these issues. This report summarises key findings and offers recommendations for stakeholders in navigating the evolving landscape of AI standardisation.
