Code associated with 'Closing the stellar labels gap: Stellar label independent evidence for [α/M] information in Gaia BP/RP spectra'

Description
We present a stellar label independent model for Gaia BP/RP (XP) spectra, which does not rely on stellar labels to simulate XP spectra. Here, we provide all of the data required to reproduce our results. All of the data files should be placed in the data folder. Below we briefly summarize the contents:
- Data: Initially empty, but can add requisite data using link above.
- Figures: All figures in Laroche & Speagle (2024).
- Models: contains our machine learning model trained on Gaia XP spectra (which have associated APOGEE stellar labels).
- Notebooks: To reproduce results and figures from Laroche & Speagle (2024).
- Scripts: Data pre-processing/acquisition. No need to run any of these if you grab the data above.
- xp_vae: Our unsupervised, generative model for XP spectra, a 'scatter' variational auto-encoder. See Laroche & Speagle (2024) for details.
