METHODS OF TREATMENT AND DIAGNOSIS OF CHRONIC APICAL PERIODONTITIS
Authors/Creators
Description
In modern dentistry, there are many methods for treating and diagnosing chronic apical periodontitis, but the prevalence of caries complications is 35-47%. According to O.P. Maksimova, in 2005, almost every patient had 4 to 8 teeth with caries complications. Odontogenic infections play a significant role in damaging internal organs such as the heart, liver, and kidneys. In most cases, apical periodontitis is caused by microflora consisting of various opportunistic microorganisms. In 2017, E.N. Kogina and L.P. Gerasimova discovered a high frequency of bacterial and fungal flora in the root canals of teeth, with the presence of aggressive Prevotella intermedia and Fusobacterium bacteria. The effectiveness of endodontic therapy depends on the treatment of the root canals, but even after treatment, microorganisms can persist, which can affect the effectiveness of therapy. The purpose of the study: to conduct a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of treating destructive forms of periodontitis. Ninety-two patients with chronic apical periodontitis without a history of endodontic intervention were observed. Clinical examination, treatment and X-ray control were carried out after 6 and 12 months.
