Holcopasites minimus BCP (LACM

Description

Holcopasites minimus (Linsley, 1943) *

[Holotype: CASC; ♀ Tucson, Arizona, USA; August 11, 1924]

As with other species in this genus, Holcopasites minimus is a brood parasite on bees in the subfamily Panurginae (Michener 2007). This species represents a new record for the BCP. We examined one female collected in La Giganta Ranges at Vic. Est. Microondas “Ligui”, 48 km S Loreto in September 1977 captured in the same sampling event as the H. insoletus records (LACM). See fig. 128.
