Etiology-Specific Network Reconstruction in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Based On Transcriptomic Profiling

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most prevalent form of liver cancer, representing about 90% of all cases. HCC arises from a number of etiological factors and although vaccinations and antiviral treatments have significantly decreased the occurrence of HCC, its incidence continues to rise due to other causes, including alcohol abuse and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (1).

Objectives: To determine the differences in the mechanism of carcinogenesis involved in the different etiologies of HCC to have a better understanding of the pathogenesis of Hepatocellular carcinoma.
