Description

Calliopsis (Hypomacrotera) subalpina Cockerell, 1894

[Holotype: ANSP; ♂ Las Cruces, Doña Ana Co., New Mexico, 1893]

This species occurs in the southwestern USA and northern Mexico. The AMNH reports one female collected in the Lower Colorado Desert San Felipe, BC in March 1967 (GBIF 2023). We corroborate 24 specimens (15 ♂, 9 ♀) from the Lower Colorado Desert 15 mi. S Palacio, Mexicali, BC (CASC). See fig. 27.
