A scientific case of low-mass star-forming galaxies at different redshifts for the future MOSAIC instrument of the giant European ELT telescope.

Description
This work is part of the scientific activities for the Spanish contribution to the development of the future multi object spectrograph MOSAIC for the ESO European39m Extremely Large Telescope ELT. The goal is to determine the feasibility and principal characteristics of a spectroscopic survey of low-mass star-forming galaxies at cosmological distances that will be carried out in the future with the MOSAIC instrument. The most complete existing surveys of galaxies at different redshifts are used to select representative samples of galaxies at different epochs of the Universe. In preparation for the MOSAIC simulator tool, a first estimation of the performance and capabilities of the ELT/MOSAIC combination is presented.
