Description

Thermohaline mixing plays an important role in the mixing processes after the red-giant-branch's bump of low-mass stars. The interplay of thermohaline mixing with other processes such as the downward overshoot from the convective envelope or rotation should be carefully investigated. After implementing the thermohaline mixing process in the PARSEC stellar evolutionary code, we compute tracks and isochrones and convert to the corresponding isochrones with the TRILEGAL code. To obtain constraints on the efficiency of both processes we perform a detailed analysis of two globular clusters, M4 and NGC 6397. As a preliminary results, we see that to reproduce the magnitude of the Red Giant Branch bump of these clusters and the 7Li abundance of NGC 6397 we need to adopt an envelope overshooting effieciency EOV=0.6 and a thermohaline efficiency of AL=50, and we compare with literature. We find that both envelope overshooting and thermohaline mixing have a significant impact in the variation of 7Li abundance. In this talk the investigation on the combination effects of both thermohaline mixing and envelope overshooting will be presented as the first step in our goal. Besides that, the recent release of PARSEC v2.0 for rotating stellar models and isochrones in a wide range of metallicity and masses, Nguyen et al. 2022, will also be presented.
