DH & Multilingualism - A journey through history

Plenary lecture given at « Culture & Technology » European Summer University in Digital Humanities 2024, Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca 16 July 2024.

In order to get a clearer view on the role languages other than English played in the official manifestations of Humanities Computing and later Digital Humanities and on the impact endeavours to put multilingualism on the agenda had on its further developement, I undertook an intensive research into all issues of the journals Computers and the Humanities (CHum) and Literary & Linguistic Computing (LLC) now Digital Scholarship in the Humanities (DSH) as well as the Calls for Papers published by ALLC, ALLC & ACH, and ADHO.

As the research is in progress the tables only allow preliminary and incomplete insights.
