Empowering Early Career Researchers in Data Stewardship: A Global Initiative
Description
The World Data System Early Career Researchers (WDS-ECR) network is eager to explore collaborative opportunities with the Research Data Alliance's Early Career and Engagement IG (RDA ECEIG). Our global network nurtures a community of emerging scientists and data stewards across varied disciplines, united by a commitment to innovative data management and open science principles. We believe in the power of partnership to amplify our efforts. This presentation will highlight how WDS-ECR's resources and initiatives can harmonize with RDA ECEIG’s goals, fostering a fertile ground for collaboration through:
Interdisciplinary Networking: We aim to bridge connections between our diverse members and those within RDA ECEIG, enhancing cross-domain dialogue and collaboration.
Mentorship Opportunities: By sharing strategies for successful mentorship programs, we can co-develop robust platforms for knowledge exchange and career advancement.
Skill Development: Through joint webinars and training, we seek to unify our expertise in nurturing the skillsets essential for future leaders in research data management.
Community Engagement: We propose creating combined social outlets that encourage informal exchanges among early career professionals, enriching both of our networks.
Our goal is not just to showcase what WDS-ECR offers but also to illustrate how an alliance with RDA ECEIG could unlock new horizons for early career researchers and professionals globally. Together, we envision building a dynamic ecosystem that fosters excellence in data stewardship while empowering each member to contribute meaningfully toward resilient and inclusive research communities.
