Description

The protection of national critical infrastructure is a top priority for governments worldwide, given the rise in cyberattacks targeting key sectors such as energy, healthcare, transportation, and finance. Traditional cybersecurity measures are increasingly being outpaced by the sophistication of attackers, necessitating the adoption of more resilient and innovative approaches. Blockchain technology, known for its decentralized, immutable, and transparent nature, offers a potential solution to safeguard national infrastructure. This paper explores how a combined cybersecurity framework integrating blockchain technology can bolster the security, integrity, and resilience of national infrastructure. We discuss the vulnerabilities of critical infrastructure, the role of cybersecurity, and how blockchain can mitigate these vulnerabilities. Furthermore, we examine case studies where blockchain has been successfully implemented and outline challenges and future directions for integrating blockchain into national cybersecurity strategies.
