Beyond the Walled Gardens: Reinventing the Digital Research Landscape with the Princeton Prosody Archive

This poster uses the rich case study of the Princeton Prosody Archive to show how it is possible – but difficult – to break out of the “walled gardens” that comprise today’s digital research landscape. The poster's visualizations illustrate the innovative technical architecture of the database, surface the invisible labor it takes to build a resource of this kind, and compare the variable levels of access granted by each "garden."
