Description

We present ntRoot, an alignment-free and computationally lightweight framework for inferring human super-population-level global and local ancestry from whole genome assemblies or raw sequencing data types, and demonstrate its utility on over 300, Simon Genome Diversity Project and 1000 Genomes Project datasets. ntRoot is available from https://github.com/bcgsc/ntRoot. A preprint describing the technology is accessible at https://doi.org/10.1101/2024.03.26.586646
