Authors/Creators
Description
Summary. This scientific article indicates and evaluates the role of music in the MSSR which
was promoted as a new form of anti-communist protest against the policy of the CPSU which was
established with the aim of creating a new concept, namely that of „Moldovenism” in the space
between the Prut and Dniester. The social-political context that appeared in the RSSM immediately
after the Second World War presents in itself a wide range of actions of change and annihilation of
everything inherited from the former Romanian authorities. As a result of the activities of sovietization and development of Moldovanism, all sides of the cultural field suffered, let’s not deny that
considerable investments were also made, but with the aim of demonstrating belonging to the Soviet
space rather than the Romanian one. As in the field of science, literature, arts, music also had its
fearless promoters who showed their courage in the form of a protest by creating music not only at
the command of the communist party but in the desire to promote democracy and human freedom.
Romanian musical folklore is the one that formed the basis of the formation of new musical products
and demonstrated that here the nation can think Romanian and freely. The bravest protestors in the
field of music in the MSSR against communism were „Mihai Dolgan” and „Ştefan Petrache”, creators of the first jazz-rock band in the SSR and the USSR.
Key words: MSSR, moldovenism, muzica jazz-rock, protest anti-comunist, democrație
