Etymology

The genus name is based on Hampton, Australia, where the type specimens were collected.

Type species. Hamptonilla lombardini (Womersley, 1961).

In addition, this genus includes: Hamptonilla bornemisszai (Womersley, 1961) comb. n. and H.
