On-farm assessment of footpad dermatitis in turkeys

Footpad dermatitis is a contact dermatitis of the plantar surface of the feet which is painful to the birds. With a high prevalence in flocks, footpad dermatitis is a common welfare issue in commercially reared turkeys. This indicator factsheet provides a 5-point scale scoring system to evaluate foot lesions in turkeys.
