The collection contains a number of articles aimed at solving some theoretical and methodological questions of archeology, in particular acroposociogenesis, the emergence of cities, the definition of crafts, typologies of pastoralism. The method of descent in relation to archaeological research is revealed, an overview of ethnic reconstruction methods based on archaeological sources is presented, the ways of building archaeological theory by representatives of "new archeology" are analyzed, the history of the creation of periodization schemes in archeology is revealed. An attempt was made to determine the social content of Trypil burial grounds. New methods of chronological ordering of archaeological sources are proposed.
