Characterisation of a neodymium plasma for the measurement of atomic transition probabilities.

Description

The lack of high-quality atomic data, such as the transition probabilities (Aki) of rare earths like neodymium (Nd), poses a significant challenge for astrophysicists in accurately determining stellar chemical abundances. So, generating accurate and improved atomic data is crucial. One method involves analysing spectral emissions from the plasma of a hollow cathode lamp with an Nd cathode.
