Cyclotella stylorum Brightwell (1860: 96) (Fig. 3)

Features: Diameter 36–60 μm, marginal striae 13–15 in 10 μm.
Description: Valves circular, central area slightly undulate to nearly flat, coarsely punctate. Marginal striae radiate, occupy 1/3 the distance to valve center.
Ecology and Distribution: Widely distributed brackish water and marine species, more common in warm waters. Previously known from the Gulf (Hendey 1970). Frequent in Basra corals.
