Neocentema Schinz (1911: 248 ‒ 249).
Type (here designated):— Neocentema alternfolia (Schinz) Schinz (1911: 248 ‒ 249) ≡ Centema alternfolia Schinz (1896: 419).
Species richness and distribution: —2 species from tropical Africa (Tanzania and Somalia; see SANBI 2012b).
Centema alternifolia Schinz (1896: 419).
Type (lectotype [here corrected], designated by Townsend 1985: 40):— TANZANIA. S. Masai steppe, June 1892, Stuhlmann 4287 (Z; isolectotype at M0107361 [Digital image!], image of the isolectotype available at http://plants. jstor.org/stable/history/10.5555/al.ap.specimen.m0107361).
