Terrestrial trees. Distribution in PILA 200–1000 m, low elevation mixed forest, mixed forest in transition to low elevation forest. Global distribution: Nicaragua to Panama. Records: D. Solano 4530 (BM, INB, MO, PMA), S. Bridgewater 4167 (BM, INB, MO, PMA). Uses: Firewood, ornamental.
