Description

The `loc.zip` file in this record contains scripts and data files for the creation of a bibliographic dataset of books by women in the BN database which are in the Library of Congress online catalogue.

The file `loc.md` records the key steps and decision making for each stage of the creation process.

Note: while it should be possible to successfully run the code referenced in this document, the results of queries to the project database and the LOC catalogue API are not exactly reproducible since neither of the sources are static objects. Reference copies of all the data obtained at the time (February 2024) are included in the repository.
