Basionym:— Acisanthera leptalea Almeda (1999: 159–162). Type:— BOLIVIA. Santa Cruz: Velasco, Noel Kempff Mercado National Park, Serranía de Huanchaca, north and northeast of Noel Kempff Mercado trail, 13°54’22”S, 60°048’52”W, 360 m, 8 June 1994 (fl., fr.), B. Mostacedo et al. 2127 (holotype: MO 038864 -image!; isotypes: CAS 0000053 -image!, USZ).
