Description
Abstract: Granite and marble are two distinct types of rock formations that are used in construction in various ways. The granite industry generates a lot of garbage and dust. The environment is being exposed to garbage from granite polishing facilities, which poses a health risk. These dusts of marble and granite can be used in place of some of the cement and sand while preparing concrete. An examination has been conducted experimentally to investigate the potential use of marble and granite powder as a partial replacement for cement and sand. Sand is either partly or completely replaced with granite dust in varying percentages of 0%, 25%, 50%, and 100%, and marble powder in varying percentages of 0 to 30% at 10% interval in place of cement. At 28 days the strength properties of concrete in the form of cubes and cylinders were tested. The contrasted with the conventional concrete mix a rise in the concreteʼs compressive strength via 14.88% and split tensile strength rise via 2.3% at 28 days when the powdered form of stone dust particles replace with ingredients like cement and sand at the percentage of 10% and 25% in mix-2. The strength steadily declined when the proportion of stone dust particles was raised.
