Basionym: Isomeris arborea Nuttall ex Torrey & Gray var. globosa Coville (1892: 73).
Type: USA. California: Kern Co., Caliente Creek, 24 Jun 1891, F. V. Coville & F. Funston 1107 (holotype: US; isotype: US).
Homotypic synonym: Peritoma arborea (Nuttall ex Torrey & Gray) Iltis var. globosa (Coville) Iltis (in Iltis & Cochrane 2007: 449).
