Basionym: Isomeris arborea Nuttall ex Torrey & Gray var. angustata Parish (1907: 128).

Type: USA. California: Riverside Co., Western edge of the Colorado Desert, 200 m, 23 Apr 1907, S. B. Parish s.n. (holotype: DS 98980).

Homotypic synonym: Peritoma arborea (Nuttall ex Torrey & Gray) Iltis var. angustata (Parish) Iltis (in Iltis & Cochrane 2007: 449).

Heterotypic synonym: Isomeris arborea Nuttall ex Torrey & Gray var. insularis Jepson (1936: 11). Type: USA. California: Santa Barbara Co., Island of Santa Rosa, Jun 1888, T. S. Brandegee s.n. (holotype: JEPS 2639; isotype: DS 41318).
