Basionym: Isomeris arborea Nuttall ex Torrey & Gray (1838: 124).

Type: USA. California: San Diego, T. Nuttall s.n. (holotype: BM 629078).

Homotypic synonyms: Cleome isomeris Greene (1888: 200). Isomeris aborea “Nuttall ” ex Greene (1888: 200, sphalm). Peritoma arborea (Nuttall ex Torrey & Gray) Iltis (in Iltis and Cochrane 2007: 449).
