Description
7. Eugenia grandifolia O. Berg (1857: 324).
Type:— BRAZIL. Rio de Janeiro, Schott s.n. (lectotype W!, designated here; isolectotypes F!, W!). Remaining syntype:— BRAZIL. Rio de Janeiro, Sellow s.n. (syntype B †).
Notes:—In describing Eugenia grandifolia, Berg (1857) cited two syntypes, Sellow s.n. (B) and Schott s.n. (W). The specimen Schott s.n. (W) has been designated as the lectotype of Eugenia grandifolia, once the syntype from B (Sellow s.n.) has been destroyed.
Distribution:— Eugenia grandifolia is known only from Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil.
