Description
7. Ilex fargesii Franchet (1898: 255). Type:— CHINA. “Se-tchuen (Sichuan), district de Tchen Kéou tin (Chengkou)”, R. P. Farges 763 (holotype: P; isotypes: E, KUN)
The species consists of two subspecies:
1a. Fruiting pedicel glabrous, shorter than or equal to fruit diameter..................................................................................... Ilex fargesii
1b. Fruiting pedicel mostly more or less hispidulous, rarely glabrous, longer than or equal to fruit diameter................................................................................................................................................................................................... Ilex fargesii subsp. melanotricha
